Dating a victim of narcissistic abuse is one such scenario. 16 episodes later Im so happy with this couple, Im going to miss them. This drama made me laugh, even cry a little and made me care for many of the characters.

So many great scenes from this episode there’s no choosing. Wow, Yeon Woo-Jin was acting up a storm in this episode. He had me crying like a baby in the phone call with his mom, then a moment later laughing out loud at his attempt at aegyo with JM’s mom.
But they learned how to love and accept one another in spite of that, and maybe even because of that. After a successful surgery, Jang-mi’s dad cuts fruit for Mom and tells her his plan to open a pizza delivery place. She grouches that it’s not much better than chicken and lets him know that she still hates him, but she’s taking him back so as not to burden Jang-mi. She says she’ll use the money from selling the chicken place for Jang-mi’s wedding, asserting that she only objected because Ki-tae’s mother was so rude and whoops, there she is, come to visit. Our past experiences, including past relationships, can have a lasting impact on us. In some cases, bad experiences from a past relationship can creep into our future relationships.
I cried when the three ladies cried when grandma finally let go of her daughter in law and cried again when mum offered to live with the other 2 ladies and left dad to go eat crap for all they cared.. I also loved the realism in their decision to get married. They know firsthand just how badly marriages can go but even so, they’re still willing to give it a try and try their best to love and support each other despite whatever twists life may throw at them. I also loved the cleverness in the writing, the crazy sound effects, the awesome ost and the cute effects on screen. This really was an interesting, unique, heartwarming, FUNNY show and I’m going to miss it so much. The ending left me wanting more, idk I just didn’t like the ending that much even though that kiss was amazing.
I agree, KT Mom is fantastic and I love that she wasn’t just left to be a cardboard cutout witch. I sure hope Kim Hae Sook gets all the credit she deserves for this show. Dad’s shocked face is so satisfying. Ki-tae’s mom sits up alone late at night and is joined by Grandma, who also can’t sleep. Grandma says she has something to confess and asks if Mom remembers when she left home with Ki-tae. She tells Mom that Ki-tae thinks of those as his happiest days, but Mom remembers them as lazy days. She didn’t cook or clean, just spent all her time with her son.
Because in lesser capable hands, the character would seem one-dimensional. That sad, miserable, thrown aside wife just waiting to hurt anyone who came across her. Now that the drama is over (I’ve just seen the final ep, even without subs it feels so goddamn satisfying), my weekend won’t feel as exhilarating and the rest of the week won’t feel as insufferable. The nearest I can get my hands on (excluding mine). And how much did I LOVE Ki Tae’s mom in this? I especially liked that she just kind of threw up her hands and accepted that Jang Mi is just weird and that maybe weird is what the family needs.

He had to learn that while you may get hurt if you reach out to others, you also may gain immeasurable happiness, and that’s worth possibly experiencing some heartbreak in the process. Instead of giving Jang-mi personal satisfaction, this just led to her being dismissed and overlooked by her friends and family. But now she’s learned to use that quality in herself to help others, like how she put her own discomfort aside time and again to reach out to Ki-tae’s mother, and help her find her own happiness. In fact, my favorite thing about this drama, now that it’s over, is that everyone stayed fundamentally true to themselves. This goes for the parents as well as the leads, because none of them really changed dramatically; they only learned to accept themselves and take responsibility for their own happiness.

The fact that this drama is ending today breaks my heart. I have not seen a drama with such palpable chemistry between leads since Queen In Hyun’s Man (maybe Master’s Sun). Hopefully this ends in a real life couple as well…
